Stor-Age Pirates Women’s Rugby Club player selected for Springboks

Penbry McNamara, a Stor-Age Pirates Rugby Club player since the beginning of 2018, has been selected for the Springboks Women’s squad for their European tour in November.

McNamara is the second Pirates rugby player to be invited to join the Springbok Women’s team. She will be playing both hooker and flank during the squad’s European tour.

After sustaining an injury during one of the league games, McNamara made a full recovery to showcase her skills as a quality rugby player during an interprovincial for the Golden Lions. She was selected for the Springboks training camp during the final between Golden Lions and Boland Cavaliers, after which she got selected to join the Springboks squad.
