The Olympics have been making headlines all over the world as the greatest sporting showpiece on the planet. Here are some fun facts about the Olympics and Stor-Age that we discovered while watching the athletes do their thing!
Did You Know?
The Olympic record for the Mens 100m is held by Usain Bolt of Jamaica in a simply astounding 9.63 seconds. Did you know that our Stor-Age Central Sales team could answer three phone calls in that time based on average call waiting times? Bolt also holds the Olympic record in the 200m event for which he clocked a time of 19.30 seconds.

The circumference of our Stor-Age Lyttleton property is 900m, in 2012 David Rudisha of Kenya set an Olympic record of 1min 40 seconds to run roughly the same distance. Unfortunately at the time of asking he was not available to be a part of our surveillance team.

Prior to the Rio Olympic Games, the Olympic gold medal holders in rugby were the USA. In the first ever sevens rugby competition at the Olympics, Fiji won the first ever gold medal by their nation. Our very own Blitzbokke returned from Rio having claimed the bronze medal as their own.

Bob Beamon’s Olympic record breaking leap of 8.90m in the 1968 Olympics hosted in Mexico City means he would’ve been able to jump from one side of a 24m2 unit to the other without touching the ground in between.

Caster Semenya is expected to take golf in the Women’s 800m final on Sunday morning. She trains at the High Performance Centre in Tshwane, just 2.5 km from Stor-Age Brooklyn. That means Caster could get from training to a unit at our facility in under 6 minutes!
