R35,000 Cycling For Charity At Cape Argus Cycle Tour
This weekend saw the Cape Argus Cycle Tour hit Cape Town and Stor-Age was part of a team of 24 cyclists that took on the challenge to raise funds for Songo. The team managed to raise a fantastic R35,000 for the charitable organisation. "Songo.info is a social development program that provides sport and recreational activities to children." "The songo.info organisation has grown from humble beginnings. Everything started with Songo Fipaza’s dream to uplift Kayamandi, the community that he has lived in for numerous years of his life and where he has been working hard to bring about change for his community."
The team consisted of riders from a number of companies including Stor-Age (leading self storage brand in South Africa), Kilowatt AV (technical support and equipment rental) and Ornate (branding company). It was a cold and very early start to the morning but the riders managed to complete the gruelling race and reach the donation goal. Dillon Jearey, owner of Kilowatt AV, enjoyed his ride, "The best thing about the day was the team spirit we stayed together until the end and it was all for a good cause."
Congratulations to the boys from Stor-Age who finished in good times:
Pinny Hack 5:39:57
Leon De Klerk 6:33:06
Stephan Jordaan 6:33:08
Pinny, the Stor-Age Group Finance Manager finished with the top time and filled us in with what spurred him on to work harder. "Seeing the Atlantic seaboard at the top of Suikerbossie made me cry." Stor-Age had setup a drinks stop with some shade and music for the riders and no doubt this will have been a welcome relief for the entire team looking for a bit of inspiration for the last push towards completing the cycle.
