With the days warming up, many of us are starting to think about the glorious days of summer that lie ahead. While we do, now is a great time to pack away the winter items that often take up a lot of space at home and make way for a summer wardrobe.

Getting ready for summer
- Pack away what you don’t need
It's time to pack away your thick winter blankets to make way for your cooler spring and summer linen. Make sure they are all washed and clean as you may only take them out again in a few months time and you don't want any surprises! Consider vacuum packing them and placing them into self storage
- Service your equipment!
You probably haven't used the airconditioner all that much over recent months, so now is a good time for their annual service. The last thing you want to happen on a hot summer's night is for your aircon to pack up. For your fans, spend some time cleaning the bladres and removing old dust that will have settled.
- Get the pool ready
If you are lucky enough to have a swimming pool, it's time to get that blue sparkly shine back. Take some of the pool water to your nearest pool shop to have the water tested. They'll tell you how much you need of what to get it ready. If you have a solar heating system, have it checked to make sure all the piping and connections are in order.
- Dress up the garden
You've probably already noticed that your garden is coming back to life after the winter months. If you are having family or friends over (remember to social distance!), you'll want your garden to look good. If you need to spruce things up a bit, stop by your local nursery and have a chat to them about what you can add to your garden beds.
- Give things a lick of paint
You may find that after the long winter months (and spending a lot more time at home than you normally would), some areas of your home might need a bit of fresh paint. Get out the brushes and get stuck in. The new paint will freshen the spaces up around you.
