Creative ways to wrap your gifts
The year has almost come and gone! 2019 has certainly been an eventful one for South Africans, and as the year starts to wrap up so households across the country start to wrap gifts for their loved ones over the festive season.
It’s a time to celebrate with friends and family, as our busy lives start to slow and focus more on those who are closest to us. We all love to receive gifts, but often the real joy comes from presenting a gift to that special someone and watching them open it.
A gift that is thoughtfully wrapped is always well-received, and so in this blog post we share a few tips on how to wrap your festive season gifts.
Here are a few crafty ways to make your gifts stand out
Paper is back
By wrapping your gifts in brown paper you’ll be able to draw doodles on them and personalise them for that special someone. It’s a great idea if you have children that are gifting as well. Alternatively, you can use stamps, paint or ink to decorate the paper. It doesn’t have to stop with brown paper as you can use old sheet music or even newspaper. This is the time to get creative!
Go all natural
Using plants as extra pieces of adornment to your gifts is an elegant way to use nature to speak for itself. You don’t have to go too far either, as something simple from the garden will do.
Box it up!
If you are giving someone a number of small gifts, why not place them into a box and then decorate it in a way that reflects their personality or something that they love (think sports, music etc). Take a bow
Go crazy with bows! You can easily make bows out of ribbon, paper or fabric and stick them on your gifts. There are plenty of off the shelf options as well.
String it along
Using string is a great way to add a personal touch, especially if you have a few colours to choose from. You can also use string in the same way that you’d use ribbon.
