Stor-Age Announces Title Sponsorship of Festival of Running
On Saturday 23 June 2018, SuperSport Park will transform into a running hub for over 2,500 amateur and seasoned runners for the second edition of the Stor-Age Festival of Running, an innovative in-stadia festival for every type of runner.
We have been named the event title sponsor and have further committed to a three-year title sponsorship of the event to help the organisers grow it into an even bigger success.
As we are an existing stadium partner, it was a natural fit for us to become involved in this event. We are always looking for ways to push the boundaries, and we are looking forward to involving ourselves in the comradery of the local Centurion community.
The 2018 event follows the inaugural Festival of Running which took place last year, when the running community and their families descended upon the stadium to take part. This year the festival has been altered from a two-day festival to a one-day in order to maximise the experience for participants.
Pierre Joubert, Commercial Manager of SuperSport Park, commented: “We are all very excited about this year’s event, as we have already surpassed our expected interest in the festival and believe it will be even bigger and better than last year. There is much excitement amongst the local community, and we urge all runners and their families to join us on 23 June.’’
Sponsoring sports teams and events has been a focus of ours for quite some time, as we believe that it is a relevant and positive way to be involved in a community where our business provides a valuable service. The Festival of Running is another such event that brings together a community for a fun and wholesome cause.
The festival consists of three different race categories from which to choose, namely the Solo Challenge, Relay and Schools Challenge, tailoring the race for both amateur and seasoned runners. The aim is to build a community of runners within the safe confines of SuperSport Park. Participants will run in laps around the stadium and along the grass embankments to complete the 2km route.
All runners looking for some fun and a chance to challenge oneself with endurance are invited to take part in the event. Runners can get more information and register for their race on the official website: www.festivalrunning.com.
